What is Edutainment?
We’re serious about reaching kids where they’re at! Our educational entertainment revolves around our animated series, Grady’s Garden, and features:
Through our outreach Grady’s Classroom™, Grady’s Garden has reached hundreds of kids at elementary schools and Boys & Girls Clubs so far, with significant expansion forthcoming in 2024.
Grady’s Garden episodes provide children with a cumulative understanding of how a garden provides access to self-grown food that nourishes them and their communities. In concert with educational materials, the shows encourage children (and friends and families) to recognize and try more vegetables, grow their own produce, or participate in community gardens.
Grady’s Garden’s first animated series, Grady’s Garden, chronicles the lives of six kids who learn to create an urban garden to provide vegetables for their families and community.
These “edutainment” episodes and their accompanying curriculum, administered by our Grady’s Classroom™ team, are implemented in classrooms and after-school programs in under-resourced communities where childhood obesity and food insecurity are most prevalent.
Grady’s Garden features:
• an engaging, youth-focused series that features a diverse cast of characters,
• compelling, adaptable curriculum,
• hands-on activities designed to engage elementary aged youth (2nd-3rd grade).
