Grady's Chunky Pasta Sauce with Italian Sausage & Cavatappi
Yields: 6-8 portions
Ingredients:
1 box (1 lb.) of cavatappi pasta
1 pound of Italian bulk sausage
1 onion (diced)
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 jar (24 oz) Grady's Chunky Pasta Sauce
Directions:
Bring 4 quarts of water to a boil and add 2 tablespoons of salt to the water. Add pasta and stir. Follow directions according to instructions on box. Note: You may substitute any pasta for cavatappi.
While pasta is cooking, add Italian sausage to 12-inch pan (saute pan). Turn burner on medium and cook sausage.
When the sausage is half way cooked, add onions and saute with sausage. Continue to cook until sausage is fully cooked. Add garlic and cook one minute
Add jar of Grady's Pasta Sauce and simmer until 155 degrees, about 8 minutes.
When pasta is cooked, drain and add to simmering pasta sauce. Simmer for 4 minutes.
Options: sprinkle parmesan cheese on top
